Hi Parents!
Here is what we are learning about this week:
Math: In Math we will review unit fractions and fractions on a number line. Then we will begin learning about equivalent fractions.
Science: In Science we will brainstorm how we can make a difference in our school and/or community with recycling and conservation. We will start with some things we learned from the speakers from West Rock on Friday. This will lead us into our STEAM challenge. Then we will move into learning about the 5 regions in Georgia.
Writing: This week students will begin writing a persuasive speech on a topic they are passionate about. Be prepared to hear why you should get a dog or cat in the near future! LOL!!!
Grammar: In Grammar we will learn about comparative adjectives.
Reading: In Reading we will review story elements (character, setting, theme, plot, illustrations, and point of view) and learn to compare all story elements after reading 2 related stories.
Week in Review:
Monday: Start the week off strong!
Tuesday: Target day on Tuesday for this week only
Wednesday:
Thursday: Students will take a Math Inventory assessment in the Computer Lab
Friday: Parent Reader
Hope you have a great week!
Joni
