Hi Parents,
I hope everyone enjoyed the break, I certainly did! Please consider posting to our Fall Break Padlet some time this week. Here in our classroom we really do become a family, think of all the time we spend together!! It is so fun to share about our time off and enjoy getting to know each other even more. I will display the pictures on our board each morning this week so feel free to post later in the week.
Here is what we are learning this week:
Math: This week in Math we will review multiplication. This week the math tasks will be differentiated even more than usual to meet the needs of the students. The goal of this week is to be comfortable with a multiplication strategy and to begin learning facts.
Social Studies: In Social Studies we will learn about the 3 branches of government. The students will create a flip book to bring home at the end of the week.
Writing: In Writing students will work hard to publish their final narrative piece. You will be able to see this piece during our conference, it will be displayed in the hallway.
Reading: During Reading this week I will use the time for many things to prepare for the upcoming report card:
We will review the grammar we've learned this quarter and take some quick assessments. I will read one on one with each student using a leveled passage to identify their fluency and comprehension level. We will begin our new class read aloud, Because of Winn Dixie. Additionally, we will work with some new vocabulary to learn how to figure out a meaning of a word we do not know.
It will be a busy week but I know it will be a great one after a week off!
Hope you all have a great week!
Mrs. Adams
