Here is what we are learning this week:
Math: In Math we are working on rounding numbers to the nearest ten and nearest hundred.
Reading: In Reading we will begin working on our comprehension strategies. Students will learn to ask questions as they are reading. I will read with each student one on one this week to check if students are able to choose "just right" books on their level.
Writing: In Writing we are kicking off our Narrative Unit on Monday. Students will begin to write about events or experiences in their lives.
Social Studies: Last week we spent the week kicking off our Science unit on Rocks and Minerals. This week we will kick off our Social Studies unit on Early American Indians.
Spelling: The spelling words for this week are posted on the class website.
Grammar: We will work on plural nouns this week.
Don't forget: Please send in 1-5 pictures this week so students can decorate their Writing Journal.
Please check your Cobb County folder to be sure you turned a clinic card for your child as well as an online technology form. I will send home extra forms this week.
Devices can come to school on Monday if your child has a BYOD form on file with me.
Week in Review:
Monday: Students get to spin the wheel if they bring back their Tigers Tale signed
Tuesday: Target Day
Thursday: ILC Orientation with Mrs. Bates
Friday: Parent Reader
TRY THIS: Ask your child how to play "Mystery Number." This is a great game to play at home. We skyped Mrs. Bates and Mr. Casey in our classroom to play this game. We've played this game several times, hopefully your child can tell you how to play.
Have a great week!
