Hello Parents!
The kids are so excited that we made our 4th goal for the Tritt-Mazing Race!
Here is what we are learning about:
Math: Last week we learned about properties of multiplication: Identity, Zero, Commutative, and Associative. This week we will learn about the Distributive Property and review all of the properties. We are moving towards the expectation of students memorizing multiplication facts. Students should be practicing their facts at home. We will continue to take multiplication timed test each Friday. These are not for a grade but more for students to watch their progress and get better at them each week.
Reading: Over the past couple of weeks we have been learning and reviewing non-fiction text features. This week we will continue to explore how text features help us understand an informational text better. Students will be able to apply this to their writing as well.
Writing: In Writing students are working on their first informational book.
Grammar: We are learning about action, helping, and linking verbs in grammar.
Social Studies: This week in Social Studies we will locate major U.S. rivers and mountain ranges.
STEAM: On Thursday we will work on a new STEAM challenge throughout most of the day. Students will apply what they know about weathering and erosion to create an Earth Dwelling.
Week in Review:
Monday: Tritt-Mazing Race & Electronics Day
Tuesday: Target Day
Wednesday: Happy Halloween!!! Fun morning craft and treat!
Thursday: STEAM Day & 3rd grade picnic on the field (different lunch time)
Friday: Parent Reader
Thanks again for all of your support for the PTA Fundraiser! Have a great week!
